2016 NBMBAA - Finance Partner/Director - Open to flexibility

Basic Qualifications:

  • Finance / business degree or professional accountancy qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, or local equivalent).
  • 6+ years professional Finance experience.
  • Demonstrated financial accounting and business skills with integrity and independent commercial judgment to understand the underlying business drivers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA.
  • Demonstrated financial knowledge of model analysis, evaluation, forecasting, strategic planning and decision making.
  • Business partnering: ability to build strong relationships with key individuals within the customer groups and the areas they support.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience working with senior clients groups.
  • Technical Expertise: proven ability to provide effective financial management for a complex Global Support Function organization using technical knowledge and analytical skills.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Experience working in the Finance function in a global organisation.
  • Understanding of systems and processes as they affect the financial results (BISON, SAP, JDE, etc).
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks across multiple projects using project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by creation of a network of key partners within Finance and the business and the ability to bridge communications gap between finance and non-finance.
  • Experience working in business / functional unit / commercial P&L environment.
  • Experience working with multiple client groups across a global matrix organization.


  • Review management accounts (actual, forecasts, budgets) to assist Global Support Function (GSF) Finance Leadership Team (FLT)  in signing off on income statement and balance sheet.
  • Review monthly reports, actuals, and commentaries on key variances/business drivers and identify and propose any actions required.
  • Provide financial analysis using internal and external information based on benchmarking as requested, including non standard financial and trend analysis.
  • Achieve annual unit budget by participating in and influencing decision making to ensure unit financial results meet approved targets.
  • Provide expert advice to customer groups by proactively identifying opportunities and raising challenges to meet GSF objectives and mitigate risks.
  • Execute simplification projects and implementation of best practices.
  • Be point of contact for GSF colleagues for financial issues by representing Finance and being an ambassador for the Finance function.
  • Responsible for decision support for key functional strategic projects.
  • Ability to use underlying business drivers in analysis and decision making
  • Participate in developing unit function strategies.
  • Recommend to unit Heads resource allocation options, including at project level, monitor progress against budgets and provide options for decisions to stay on track.
  • Promote sound business solutions whereby limited resources are effectively, efficiently and economically mobilized.
  • Provide financial counseling and direction to key customers recommending potential cost savings proposals for controlling spends.
  • Drive resource allocation and investment decision support.
  • Identifying best source analysis to define operational problems and other challenges.
  • Direct risk management, financial management and governance for the organisation.
