Finance Assistant - Part-time 21 hours/wk

Salary: up to £23,000 (pro-rata)

Hours: 21 hours per week – flexible working

The role is initially 3 months with a possibility for an ongoing position, available from 1st November.

Reports to: Financial Controller

Responsibilities

To undertake a variety of accounting duties, including purchase and sales ledger functions, nominal ledger journals, banking, cash books and bank reconciliations and provide a range of other bookkeeping and financial administration support to the financial controller.

  • Responsible for ensuring all purchase invoices are received, authorised, processed on the schools financial system and paid in a timely manner
  • Assist in ensuring student invoices are processed and accounts are up to date and ad-hoc income and processed on the schools financial system
  • Assist in timely and accurate preparation of bank account reconciliations, petty cash and bank payments
  • Assist in credit control and student queries
  • Assist the Financial Controller by providing purchase and sales ledger information for preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Securing and sustaining effective relationships with School staff and external suppliers
  • Other duties as may be required.

About you

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience of Sage 50 or similar financial system is essential
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Plan, co-ordinate and prioritise the responsibilities of the role
  • Ideally studying towards AAT or Bookkeeping qualification or QBE
