Help us manage our people, so we can help Britain’s healthcare providers deliver real change.

From basic research through clinical application to healthcare delivery, The Academy of Medical Sciences champions innovation and transforms patient outcomes. You can play a vital part in our continued success as you assist us in managing our people and developing the talent of tomorrow’s leaders.

Working closely with line managers and the Senior Management Team, you will provide informed advice on employee relations, terms and conditions, absences and disciplinary issues. At the same time, you will enjoy involvement in end-to-end recruitment, including the development of advertising and media plans, whilst drafting contracts of employment, inducting new starters and identifying and addressing evolving training needs.

We will also look to you to assist with all aspects of departmental administration, from maintaining personnel records to processing the payroll, scheduling appraisals and collating documentation – so every day will bring different challenges.

To hit the ground running, you will need to be a qualified CIPD member with good generalist HR experience. In particular, you will be adept at co-ordinating recruitment, leading projects and advising colleagues, and will bring good working knowledge of employee legislation and HR best practice. Exposure to modern office software, including HR packages and databases, is also essential and you will ideally be familiar with driving organisational change.

Above all you will bring an organised and analytical approach, proven ability to meet strict deadlines, and excellent problem solving, writing and presentation skills.
