You will liaise with our Programmes team to create packages of work which are both attractive to funders and support the organisation’s strategic direction.

Key elements of the role

  • To manage a portfolio of relationships with existing Trusts and Foundations, increasing their level of support and securing multi-year partnerships where possible.
  • To ensure all reporting is of high quality and completed in a timely manner.
  • To attend regular meetings with funders, existing and new, as necessary.
  • To work as part of a team to identify, research and approach new Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders with a view to securing multi-year partnerships where possible.
  • To liaise with the Charity’s Trustees and Ambassadors to identify personal and business connections to Trusts and Foundations.
  • To write high-quality, tailored proposals which are both attractive to funders and support the organisation’s strategic direction.
  • To communicate effectively internally and externally to all audiences.
  • To be a proactive and constructive member of the Fundraising team.
  • To ensure all interactions with donors are recorded on the Charity’s database (Raisers Edge) in a timely manner.
  • To use the database to record and report in income raised.
  • To jointly (with the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships) manage the Research and Diaspora Intern, ensuring they have clear objectives which challenge and interest them.
