IT Audit Manager - Public Sector & Healthcare - National Markets  - Open to flexibility

The Public Sector team within Technology Risk Consulting provides services to a range of UK Public Sector clients including those in Central and Local Government, Health, Housing and Education.   We are often required to provide specialist IT assurance support to other teams within KPMG.

Our clients in the Public Sector are facing significant challenges and are turning to technology solutions to assist.  They are constantly being asked to do more for less. Our services are of both an assurance and advisory nature.

A Manager within the team would typically be responsible for delivering specific engagements, managing teams and managing quality of work. It includes establishing themselves as a subject matter expert in one or more chosen field of expertise, building strong client relationships and spotting and converting opportunities to drive growth in one or more specific areas of our business.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities attributable to this role will include some or all of the following:

  • Managing delivery of assurance services.
  • Responsibility for the overall output from client engagements.
  • Scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production and review of deliverables.
  • Building and managing excellent client relationships across a range of clients.
  • Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as supporting the team with sales activities such as proposal writing and assisting with client presentation.
  • Participate in a service line, reporting to the service line leader on service development, sales and delivery.
  • Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, but in particular in the wider IT Advisory areas.
  • Coaching and developing team members on engagements. Contributing to practice management, eg training, knowledge management. Management of specific value added assurance services.

Successful candidates will display a combination of the following:

Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering IT assurance services (including external/internal audit) including, for example, experience in:

  • auditing and advising clients that operate major ERP systems (eg SAP, Oracle & MS Dynamics);
  • performing project assurance roles in major IT programmes;
  • reviewing IT aspects of mergers; and
  • acquisition activity.
  • Delivering ISAE 3000 / 3402 and other IT attestation services.
  • Delivering data analytics services.

Experience & Background:

  • Experience in business analysis and understanding of core business processes within the Public Sector.
  • Proven experience in identifying sales opportunities.
  • Good people management skills.
  • Recognised accounting / auditing (eg CISA, ACA, CIMA) qualification or Degree/masters qualification in IT/business.
  • Experience in an IT risk and control / audit environment.
  • A good understanding of IT data centre operations and a variety of technology platforms.
  • A good understanding of risk and issues that would be encountered by our clients during major IT projects.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present on specific subjects to a group of people (internal staff or clients/potential clients).
  • Ability to identify and assess complex IT risks and controls, to relate hem to the wider business environment and to express opinions clearly.
  • Ability to develop excellent client and internal relationships. Ability to deliver work within tight timescales, to budget and to a high quality.
  • Excellent team player but able to work on own initiative.
