Global Marketing Director Dermocosmetic - Open to flexibility

Basic qualifications: 

  • Science based marketing experience
  • Proven track record of commercial success in a LOC marketing role or above country role.
  • Performance driven and strong project management skills with a high level of pro activity.  
  • Capacity to network effectively and build strong relationships across different countries and cultures.
  • High strategic and analytical capabilities.  Good communication skills.
  • High level of English skills – verbally and in writing.

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Category/international experience in skin care marketing 
  • Track record of contributions to the strategic planning process, ideally at both a category and brand level
  • Significant proven track record of driving brand growth 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and deploy powerful insights that drive growth

World class brand, category or portfolio management experience including: 

  • Proven delivery of flawless launches
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement consistent brand assets across markets and through all consumer touch points
  • Delivered successful consumer connections
  • Demonstrated the ability to harness the shopper-consumer-expert relationship 
  • Proven P&L/budget management, budget responsibility, pricing and COG’s strategy development
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects with successful outcome
  • Exceptional communication (verbal & written) and influencing skills
  • Ability to lead within a matrix organization, integrating complex multifunctional efforts crossing multiple business areas
  • Experience in emerging consumer class markets or other emerging economies will be highly preferred
  • Experience in leading business growth in complex regulatory environments
  • Knowledge of the category’s key markets

Details: 

The role requires the ability to solve complex problems at a strategic & global level. Care must be given to ensure that strategies are business enhancing across a wide diversity of markets consisting of multiple brands at various stages within the product lifecycle. 

The candidate will support the GBL as follows:
Category & Brands

  1. Lead the process to define the dermoscosmetic category vision and strategy and specifically Physiogel vision and strategy. 
  2. Lead the process to develop a successful category growth plan and brand growth plans for Physiogel and Oilatum as required.
  3. Lead the process to refine the Brand Hearts, as appropriate, building a purposeful brand positioning.
  4. Identify and deploy global consumer insights and clearly defined and consumer validated core targets Champions the voice of the consumer. Fuse insights for strong growth plans.
  5. Lead the process to define, develop and deploy brand assets across marketing and all consumer touchpoints (pack, on shelf, digital, media etc.) including developing equity building campaigns/consumer connections and delivering digital acceleration via competitive assets.

Commercial Execution

  1. Partner with the GIL and work with markets to deliver net sales and market share growth in line 3-1 plan.
  2. Optimize elements of the P&L to enhance category performance
  3. Contribute expert and shopper knowledge in to the category and brand growth plan. Work with Expert Director to increase recommendation rates. Work with Shopper Director to drive in-store activation to win in pharmacy.

Scientific Innovation

  1. Support Innovation Director in defining global innovation strategy and delivering robust pipeline of market relevant, consumer needs driven, science based innovation (NPD, renovation, design, IP enhancement, claims etc). 
  2. Partner with R&D to strengthen science (claims, visualisation) across core brands.
  3. Partner with Design director to strengthen packaging design. 

Supply Chain 

  1. Work with supply chain partners to optimize gross margins and cog’s
  2. Work with supply chain to manage out-of-stock issues and long term supply strategy

Talent and Culture

  1. Develop self and matrix team into a high performing skin health team and embed the GSK Performance System
  2. Contribute to building Skin Health capabilities.
