Roles and Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly numerate and logical individual who has a passion for solving business problems through analytics and modelling approaches. 

KPMG Boxwood’s Business Analytics team plays a crucial role in supporting all phases of our client engagements.  From building business cases and valuations to creating optimization models, the team delivers creative and powerful solutions to our client’s problems.  We work with data, financial or otherwise, to find insights which provide guidance for our proposals, transformation planning and delivery.  Our goal is to create an externally recognized centre of excellence, building on our track record of success.

You will play an essential role on client engagements by generating new insights or supporting qualitative analysis through the use of quantitative methods.  Additionally, in all phases of our projects, you will build and maintain crucial relationships with members of the client team.

Specifically, you will be expected to:

  • Creatively deploy analytical techniques to solve business problems
  • Manipulate large data sets in Excel
  • Lead the creation of a financial case for change in client engagements
  • Explain and present complex analysis in a visually compelling and comprehensible way
  • Build financial valuation models
  • Interact with the client to understand their context and requirements
  • Ensure transfer of expertise and experience to other engagements
  • Generate new ideas and contribute to the development of the Business Analytics team
  • On occasion, lead small teams of clients’ finance department: providing expertise, guidance and mentoring

Qualifications and Skills

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to develop their consultancy career. You will work across a range of industries and each new project will provide you with different challenges and development opportunities. From day one you will contribute to our broader business development efforts through providing analysis of a prospective client’s financials or other relevant studies and over time you will play an increasing role in presenting your analysis and recommendations to senior level clients.  You will most often be based at the client site, working within broader consulting teams of talented professionals used to delivering exceptional results in highly complex and rapidly changing environments. There will be lots of challenge but plenty of support too and you can count on yourself and your colleagues to provide a fun, collaborative and engaging working environment.

You will be educate to degree level, ideally in a related subject such as Mathematics or Statistics.

In addition, you should have:

  • Financial acumen gained through specific relevant qualifications (e.g. ACA, CIMA, CFA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) or further education (MBA, MSc)
  • Expert user of Excel
  • Solid experience working in an analytical role
