Service line Information

UK Quality & Risk Management teams set, implement and enforce policies and procedures designed to help to enable KPMG UK: (i) oversee and monitor service quality, (ii) protect the brand and reputation of KPMG, (iii) comply with laws, (iv) comply with regulations and professional standards, and (v) minimize the risk of financial claims against KPMG UK.
Our Information Protection teams sits within Quality and Risk Management and is responsible for our information protection and information management policies and procedures, cyber security, information security risk assessment, data loss prevention, business continuity, responding to business and client queries, training and awareness, and relevant compliance and audit activities (including ISO 27001).

Background

Information Protection is an ever increasingly important topic for all businesses and KPMG is committed to providing a secure and safe environment for the personal data and confidential information we hold. Supporting our business and our clients in understanding and setting up secure ways of working is an important part in winning and delivering work.

The Role

This is an exciting new opportunity within our Information Protection team and an essential part of keeping both KPMG and our client’s information safe and secure. The team are currently recruiting for a role within the group to be front and centre with the business to:

  • Support sales and delivery teams respond to questions and queries they receive on information protection topics from targets and clients (including as part of RFPs, and contracts reviews);
  • Work with the business to develop and implement information protection plans at the start of and throughout the engagement lifecycle; and
  • Lead on the development and implementation of information protection training and awareness to our people.

The role would report to the Head of Information Protection and have one direct report.

Main Responsibilities

The following is a summary of the main responsibilities for this role.  Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below.  Specific activities may change from time to time:

  • Supporting sales teams in the development of proposals and in response to client queries and questionnaires during the tendering process;
  • Work with the firm’s contract unit to review and evaluate information security related contractual obligations;
  • Respond to and support the business with general queries on information protection topics (including those received through Risk Connect);
  • Work alongside functional risk groups and engagements teams to develop and implement our information protection plans policy; and
  • Develop and implement the firm’s Information Protection training and awareness programme including annual training (new for FY17) and ongoing communication campaigns.

Skills and competencies

  • Ability to deal with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels,  both internal and external, in a confident and assured manner;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Ability to act independently and exercise good judgement;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks of themselves and team members;
  • Ability to lead people and work within a wider diverse team environment;
  • Knowledge of core information protection concepts and topics (including key security policies and controls); and
  • Knowledge of the KPMG business and central processes

Qualifications

  • Information security certifications desirable.
