Senior Security Design Engineer - Open to flexibility

As a Senior Security Design Engineer within the Security Engineering & Design team, you will work with a team of Security Designers to provide Security Design support across some of the most forward-looking projects within Lloyds Banking Group. The role involves the provision of support and guidance to Technical Architects when authoring High Level Design artefacts, and similarly, providing support and guidance to Security Design Engineers who will be producing Low Level Security Designs. The role will also entail a degree of governance and assurance of both High and Low Level Designs, ensuring that solutions are aligned to security standards and patterns and are fit for purpose.

You will control security engagement into a portfolio of projects, ensuring that the right advice is given by the right people at the right time. You will set direction for your portfolio, act as an escalation point and a problem solver for any significant security issues, ultimately ensuring the quality and consistency of security support provided within that arena.

Your remit will be to support the creation of High Level Designs by providing security input and guidance to the architecture community.

Accountabilities will include providing governance of High Level Designs, ensuring alignment to established security standards and patterns, ensuring that there is an effective and auditable trail of High Level Design approval, supporting the Technical Architecture community in the security assessment of required exemptions and waivers and supporting the Security Design Engineers in the delivery of Low Level Security Designs (LLSDs), offering advice & guidance as required and responding to key technical queries and escalations. Additionally you'll have oversight and assurance of LLSDs produced by the Security Design Engineers and will manage the delivery of the LLSDs produced by Security Design Engineers, ensuring that the drives of cost, pace and quality are maintained in relation to the LLSD production service.

You'll also support the recruitment of appropriately skilled and experienced Security Design Engineers into the Design team, maintain oversight of the delivery and implementation of security controls, and support the Security Design Engineers in obtaining appropriate assurance where required.

We'll need the following from you:

A background in Cyber Security is required, coupled with experience in both producing and reviewing technical designs. This role is largely project facing, and you will need to manage the demands of multiple projects and programmes simultaneously. Whilst this role does not involve any direct line management responsibilities, you will be expected to provide support and guidance to Security Design engineers within the team.
