Bookkeeper & Administrator - Part time,  3-4 days per week

bloc works with the private, public and charitable sectors to maximise value from under-used property, delivering residential, retail, hotels and other commercial schemes across the UK.

The role

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic bookkeeper/administrator to work in our Central London office. Key elements of the role include:

  • Bookkeeping including cash and balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals
  • Helping with the transition to our new finance system, Xero
  • Managing the purchase ledger
  • Raising sales invoices and chasing for payment
  • Maintaining paper files
  • Assisting with the audit
  • Other office management and administration

The candidate

We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, with great communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude. We are a small but busy finance team, so this role needs a candidate who is organised, who can work to tight deadlines and multi-task, but can still work accurately, with good attention to detail.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • 2+ years experience of bookkeeping/accounts payable, or accounting
  • Good excel skills and previous experience of using a finance system
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles
  • AAT (or equivalent)
  • Xero experience desirable
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
