Statutory Reporting Accountant - Open to flexibility

Be part of a team of highly motivated individuals supporting our European business. Reporting to the Statutory Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the statutory reporting process for various markets, in some instances with our external consultants, providing a link back into Kellogg and an understanding to the Directors who sign off the statutory accounts.

Following the acquisition of Pringles, the statutory accounting team now leads the production of 80 statutory accounts annually.  This role is therefore highly results driven and requires an individual who has not only significant accounting/technical skills but also the ability to consistently work to tight deadlines.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

As Statutory Reporting Accountant, you will be part of our success by:

  • Managing the relationship with the external outsourcing provider of statutory accounting & tax compliance, ensuring that all accounts / filing obligations are prepared accurately and on time
  • Responsible for adhering to budget in relation to outsourcing of statutory accounts
  • Managing the change control process where additional work is identified that is out of scope in relation to fees / timings / agreed procedures
  • Managing any issues escalated by the outsourcing provider to ensure timely resolution. This will invariably involve working across function/department within Kellogg
  • Managing the statutory audit and relationship with PwC, ensuring timely preparation of audit deliverables and query resolution
  • Reviewing local statutory accounts for reasonableness pre director level review. This will include some analytical review of the statutory numbers in relation to prior year
  • Understanding the local statutory adjustments in order to assess reasonableness based on available information
  • Ensuring final accounts are signed by relevant directors and filed according to local legislation
  • Keeping up to date with changes in European accounting regulations
  • Undertaking / participating in any ad hoc stats & tax related projects

WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?

At Kellogg, we emphasise on recruiting the best people to help grow our business and build on our successes. To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

Required:

  • Degree and relevant professional accounting qualification (preferably ACA)
  • Experience of dealing with complex accounting, tax and legal/technical issues
  • Experience in different GAAP accounting
  • MS Office
  • Networking & influencing skills
  • Project planning & management skills
  • Experience dealing with internal and external audit teams

Preferred:

  • Another European language would be beneficial but not essential

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

The role will involve occasional European travel, which will involve overnight stays. The Kellogg Company has operations in most European countries.

You may be required to be flexible in terms of hours of working but this is compensated through a generous flexible working and summer hours arrangement.

Please note that we will only accept applications that are made to us via our Careers site.

Please note that the closing date may be subject to change. We will interview suitable candidates as they apply, so please don’t hesitate to take this opportunity to submit your application as soon as possible.
