The Opportunity  

Our Return to Work programme is open to anyone who’s taken a voluntary career break of two year or more. It’s designed to refresh your knowledge and skills, and boost your workplace confidence. Whatever you’ve been up to, we know it will have enriched who you are and what you can offer our clients and business. This is about giving you the time and support you need to re-adapt and get your career back on track.  

The programme aims to encourage women back into the workplace, but is open to all. Over the course of the programme, you’ll benefit from group induction sessions, mentoring and project experience, and the chance to work within one of our service lines.   At the end of the programme you may have the opportunity to convert to a permanent role at Deloitte.    

Role description  

This is your opportunity to join our Risk Advisory practice as part of the Return to Work programme.  Due to ongoing growth, we have roles in the following areas and welcome you to apply if you have relevant experience.   Deloitte's Risk Advisory practice advises organisations on how to effectively mitigate risk and make informed and intelligent risk decisions around business processes, technology and operations. Our Risk Advisory Practice is made up of the following business areas:  

Risk & Regulation Advisory Services

We specialise in helping the world's leading financial services clients to transform, integrate and improve their risk and financial management operations.  

Risk Analytics

We look at how data underpins our client’s businesses and how improving the management and use of this data improves performance.  Supporting our core advisory services, and using a range of analytical tools and technologies to deal with data issues, we look at data from all angles, from operations to analysis, decision-making to reporting and planning we help reveal new opportunities to our clients through better use of their data.  

Cyber Risk & Security

Our team of intellectually curious cyber risk professional help our clients with their complex cyber risk challenges. A typical project often involves working closely with a diverse range of experts from many different disciplines and geographies. Our practitioners have a broad range of cyber experience including providing organisational certifications (such as ISO27001 or SOC2), in advanced threat readiness and protection, application protection, identity and access management, incident response, information privacy and protection, cyber risk analytics, vulnerability management and war gaming.  

Resilience

We help organisations anticipate, plan and prepare for a full range of events, from predictable and common to worst case scenarios. We provide our clients with a full spectrum of services encompassing business and technology resilience, crisis management and contingency planning as well as asset security and geopolitical risk analysis to help resolve issues and bring real, long-lasting benefits.  

Technology Risk & Controls 

Our Technology, Risk and Control (TRC) team offers unrivalled depth of experience in providing governance, risk, control and assurance solutions to client needs. We design, implement and provide assurance over business process and technology controls to manage the risks our clients face on a day-to-day basis. We look for individuals who have experience in IT External Audit, Service Auditor Reporting, IT Internal Audit, IT Risk Management, Project Risk Management, ERP controls (SAP and Oracle), IT Governance and Digital Risk Management  

Contract Risk & Compliance 

Our Contract Risk & Compliance team provides advice to clients on how to manage third party risks. The practice has four key service offerings: Software, Business Partner Assurance, Supply Chain Risk and Contract Advisory.  

Governance & Compliance

Our Governance and Compliance function helps clients navigate the complexities of the risk, compliance and internal control landscape across the public and private sector. Our principle work areas are internal audit, enterprise risk management, project risk and programme assurance, regulatory & ethical compliance, fraud risk & prevention and controls advisory.

Robotics 

A fairly new team, our Robotics team within Risk Advisory is focused on exciting work supporting and developing innovative Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and workflow solutions using leading technologies.  

Finance Transformation 

Focused on providing leading edge solutions to practical problems of finance teams such as speed and robustness of reporting, effectiveness of management information and the visibility and effectiveness of financial controls, our Finance Transformation team provides innovative solutions to our clients across a range of industries and organisations.    

Location  

London (with opportunity to work from an office closer to home or from home when not required in the office or on client site).     

Hours  

Fixed term contract for 20* weeks on a part time basis (80% or 4 days a week) Opportunities across service lines to work in an agile way (i.e. from home or in an office closer to home). *NB for some roles this will be extended to 25 weeks due to project duration.    

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and in some cases, leading client projects (or workstreams on major client projects), including stakeholder management, resourcing, deliverable quality assurance and client billing
  • Involvement in proposal and proposition development
  • Networking and building an industry-wide network of clients and be seen as a trusted advisor
  • Acting as a role model for peers and junior colleagues
  • A broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm’s commitment to creating a more inclusive culture

Requirements  

To be eligible for the programme, you must have:

  • Taken a voluntary career break of two years or more
  • An interest in returning to work permanently
  • Five or more years’ experience within professional services or industry
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Be available to start on 18 September 2017 and be able to commit to the duration of the programme.

To be considered for one our Risk Advisory positions, you will also need to have prior experience in one or more of the following risk areas:
