Our Return to Work programme is open to anyone who’s taken a voluntary career break of two year or more. It’s designed to refresh your knowledge and skills, and boost your workplace confidence. Whatever you’ve been up to, we know it will have enriched who you are and what you can offer our clients and business. This is about giving you the time and support you need to readapt and get your career back on track.
The programme aims to encourage women back into the workplace, but is open to all. Over the course of the programme, you’ll benefit from group induction sessions, mentoring and project experience, and the chance to work within one of our service lines. At the end of the programme you may have the opportunity to convert to a permanent role at Deloitte.
This is your opportunity to join Deloitte’s Audit practice working within the Charities & Not for Profit Group as part of the Return to Work programme.
We are looking for individuals to join our fast expanding not for profit practice, in our centre of excellence in London. Our clients include some of the UK’s largest and most interesting charities and the services we provide to them are varied with opportunity to take part in interesting projects. There will also be lots of opportunities to get back out there and network with industry leading organisations and individuals at charity sector events as well as being involved in marketing.
London (with the opportunity to work from an office closer to home or from home when not required in the office or on client site). There may also be an element of travel with this role.
Fixed term contract for 20* weeks on a part time basis (80% or 4 days a week) Opportunities across service lines to work in an agile way (i.e. from home or in an office closer to home). *NB for some roles this will be extended to 25 weeks due to project duration.
Depending on the size of the projects you will manage clients on your own or work with senior managers, directors and partners to provide a variety of services to our clients. The role includes:
- Leading and managing the audit field team
- Building relationships with clients and being the 1st point of contact
- Ensuring completion of audits/projects within agreed timescales
- Managing assignments — staff allocation, client time tables, cost recovery and billing
- Drafting final documents for partner review
- Participation in not for profit audit special projects engagements
- Drafting accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and SORPs
- Developing junior members of the team
To be eligible for the programme, you must have:
- Taken a voluntary career break of two years or more
- An interest in returning to work permanently
- Five or more years’ experience within professional services or industry
- The right to work in the UK
- Be available to start on 18 September 2017 and be able to commit to the duration of the programme.
To qualify for this role you must also have:
- ACA (first time passes) or local equivalent
- Charities audit experience
- Strong academic background
- Knowledge of current accounting standards
- Basic understanding of tax issues
- An idea of current economic and market trends
- Ability to develop strong client relationships
- Experience in and an interest in business development
- Highly proficient in written and oral communication
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Capable of delegating tasks and responsibilities
- Positive and can do attitude
