Secretariat Manager, Open to flexible working
The GLA is looking to recruit a Secretariat Manager to its Committee Services Team to manage the provision of secretariat and clerking support to the Member-level meetings of Transport for London (TfL) and the two Mayoral Development Corporations, the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC).
You would be joining a high-performing team at City Hall, with an excellent reputation, which also provides secretariat and clerking support to the London Assembly, a range of mayoral boards and the London Economic Action Partnership.
It’s a dynamic environment and one where you can often read about work you’ve lead on in the media on the way home from work. You will need to be able to work quickly across a range of issues and enjoy a challenge.
You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have substantial experience of successful provision of secretariat and Board/Member support services and of providing advice on governance matters at a senior level in a large, complex and high-profile organisation. We are looking for someone who both ‘gets’ the big picture and spots the small but important details at the same time.
You must have the ability to both lead and provide direction to staff – and have experience of managing staff in a similar environment – whilst also directly delivering work yourself.
The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage the interface with senior politicians and senior staff across the GLA Group with tact and diplomacy. In return, you get to work in a great team, in a high-profile environment and in a unit that offers good development opportunities.
This role is based at City Hall.
