The Academy of Medical Science’s core mission is to advance biomedical and health research and its translation into benefits for society.

Corporate Affairs at the Academy of Medical Sciences includes administration, governance, corporate events and corporate communications. The Corporate Affairs team administers all governance arrangements at the Academy, including Council and Officers meetings, the election and induction of new Council members and Officers, and the Annual General Meeting.

The team is responsible for annual Corporate Events, including the Admission of new Fellows and Annual Fellows Dinner and named lectures, along with regular and ad hoc corporate/Fellowship communications. The team supports the activities of the Academy’s Regional Champions, who arrange a variety of events for Fellows and local contacts across the UK. The team also provides administrative support to the Executive Director, President, Officers and Senior Management Team.

As Corporate Affairs Officer, we will look to you to provide administrative support and diary management for the Senior Management Team and Honorary Officers. Assisting in the planning and delivery of Corporate Events and both regular/ad hoc Corporate Communications, you will support a programme of Regional Champions activity across the UK.

Reporting to, and supervised by, the Corporate Affairs Manager, you will manage the diary for the Executive Director, along with other members of the Senior Management Team (SMT) as well as for the President and other Officers with regard to their Academy duties and in liaison with their personal PAs. This includes meetings with key stakeholder organisations and senior external contacts.

You will also take care of arranging travel, producing correspondence, maintain and develop our contacts database and website, and assist in the planning and delivery of an annual programme of corporate events, including New Fellows Admissions Day, the AGM, Annual Fellows Dinner and named lectures.
