After working in Consumer Products for a number of years, Diageo was well known to me and intrigued me as a potential employer. Through various forums I had met employees and leaders from Diageo, all of whom raved about the company and I was struck by the vast number of women in senior leadership positions.
As you can imagine, when I saw a job advertised at Diageo for a Head of HR I applied immediately. The interview process was seamless, fast and super engaging. I talked about my small son and was asked in my interview what working pattern would be best for me. I was amazed at the open approach, and how it was adopted from day one. I was delighted to be offered the job, and the hiring manager and I agreed that I would work four days a week, as well as do early starts and finishes most days to enable me to pick up my son.
My role partners with the Global Innovation Leadership Team, Global Brand Teams and European Marketing Leadership Team on a diverse portfolio of work. We are currently doing some fantastic work to future proof our organisation and our talent to ensure we continue to provide our consumers with the best products possible. I have to be smart about how I manage my time to deliver everything I want to do within four days but the environment that Diageo fosters and my commitment to the company makes that achievable.
The level of trust at Diageo is exceptional and it is also normal for employees to flex where they work between our HQ in Park Royal, our Soho office, or from home as and when it makes sense to do so.
