f1 was founded in 2004 by Amanda Fone. We’re known for providing a different sort of recruitment experience. We’re very good. We really care. And we are always determined to help.

We love recruitment and we love the world of marketing, communications & sponsorship, where several of us had careers before joining f1. This has helped f1 become one of the best connected recruitment consultancies in marketing & communications in London, finding jobs for people here and all over the world

We work with agencies and in-house teams in all industry sectors and across all marketing, communications & sponsorship disciplines. We work with people at every stage, from undergraduates looking for work experience to CEOs wanting a new challenge, as well as flexible workers and interim or freelance professionals.

We have been championing flexible and remote working for years now – we embrace it here at f1 and we lament the fact that the marcoms industry loses great talent year after year because it cannot adapt business structures to accommodate a 21st century way of working. CEO & Founder of f1 Recruitment, Amanda is one of Timewise’s Power Founder winners selected for their entrepreneurial flair and the success of their start-up business over at least two years. She set up f1 Recruitment in 2004, with the principle of flexible working in mind. A mother to two young sons, with 22 years’ experience in recruitment, she felt strongly that three days was the most she could spend in the office if she was to balance her home and work commitments, and designed her business on that basis. Amanda’s original staff team were all parents who needed to work flexibly, at a time when this was relatively rare, and she still offers flexible working to any employee who wants it. She also champions flexible & smart working for her candidates, successfully persuading clients to incorporate flexible options into their vacancies. Amanda co-founded the Back2Businesship returner programme, which has supported more than 100 returners since 2013.
