About British Airways

We’re putting the customer at the heart of our business. Our commitment to our customers is integral to our promise, To Fly. To Serve.

For any customer about to embark on a journey, what happens on the ground prior to departure almost invariably sets the tone for the flight. This can be the first personal touch point whether it’s a smooth check-in, directions to the right gate, assistance for disabled customers, it all makes the difference in creating a lasting impression of their journey with us.

Customer Services comprises all the teams based in our Terminals, who work together to deliver that thoughtful service people admire about British Airways. Our biggest presence is at Heathrow and Gatwick, but Customer Services teams can also be found at regional airports.

It's not just about checking in customers or tagging bags. The variety of situations you'll face and the number of people you'll assist in any one day is immense. Working in our Terminals will bring you into contact with people from all walks of life and from all over the world, it’s all about treating them as an individual.

Thoughtful service, putting the customer first.

Diversity and Inclusion

As a global airline carrying customers of different nationalities, cultures, religions and sexual orientation, British Airways is committed to actively promoting diversity and understanding.

Furthermore, when recruiting talent (either from outside or from within our organisation) we are strongly supportive of the principles of diversity and inclusion.   We aim to treat all candidates fairly and consistently during all aspects of the recruitment process.  All candidates are considered strictly on merit and in relation to assessment criteria for the role

The Two Ticks Scheme

British Airways is a member of the UK government’s Two Ticks Scheme, which indicates that British Airways is positive about employing, retaining and developing disabled people within its business.  To this end, we offer an assessment to any disabled candidates who meet the essential criteria for the role that they have applied for.  An assessment could be any of the assessment methods provided we have described elsewhere on the site.
