Finance Assistant - Part-time 10.5 hours/wk

Woman’s Trust is a registered charity based in London providing counselling and support to women affected by domestic violence and training to front-line staff .

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant. This part-time position will focus on the day-to-day accounting and finance functions.

Your role will be primarily focused on bookkeeping and other general finance tasks assisting our Finance Manager. A self-starter with enthusiasm and initiative, you will be educated to degree level or hold the equivalent accountancy qualifications.

You will also have previous practical experience of bookkeeping (at least one year), ideally within a charity and experience of working with QuickBooks or other Accounting software.

Main responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the charity’s accounting records on QuickBooks
  • Acting as primary point of contact with bank, suppliers and clients
  • Ensuring all payments and expenses are correctly procured, processed and paid, including monthly salary and pension payments 
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Credit control, invoicing of Funders and training participants
  • Administering petty cash and staff/volunteer’s expenses
  • Dealing with Donations and filing Gift-Aid claims

Assistance to Finance Manager for:

  1. Preparation of Budgets for the current and future financial years
  2. Preparation of Management Accounts and other reports as required by the Trustees
  3. Preparation of Cash Flow Forecasts
  4. Preparation of accounts at year end and liaison with auditors as necessary
  5. Provision of financial information for monitoring returns

Any other ad-hoc financial assistance as required by the WT Staff team and Trustees – to be discussed and agreed as it may arise.
