The Infrastructure, Government & Healthcare (‘IGH’) Senior Knowledge Manager is responsible and accountable for the availability and quality of knowledge programs within the Line of Business (‘LoB’) and associated sectors and plays a key role in the development of a ‘knowledge culture’ and Sector Based Knowledge Services both within IGH, and into the wider GS&M organisation.

Working closely with the Director of GS&M Collaboration & Knowledge (‘C&K’), the IGH Senior Knowledge Manager is seen as an expert and ambassador for Knowledge Services within IGH and beyond.

Acting as a role model and thought leader they will consistently demonstrate expertise related to leading KM practices, behaviours and activities, and identify opportunities to continuously improve the wider GS&M KM program. The Senior Knowledge Manager also develops and reviews requirements for Sector Knowledge Managers, Knowledge Integrators (and Knowledge Analysts), related to Knowledge Services activities and is ultimately responsible for day-to-day management and coordination of relevant team members.

The scope of this job typically includes a deep knowledge and experience in the application of existing KM programs and tools, in advising and developing (in conjunction with the Director of GS&M C&K) a Knowledge Strategy for IGH based on identified and tested requirements, and ensuring appropriate programs and solutions are developed to meet those requirements. It will also involve coordination of multiple (and complex) programs and stakeholders and identification of synergies where relevant to drive consistent, efficiencies, and ROI.

The IGH Senior Knowledge Manager reports directly to the Director of GS&M C&K and works as part of a small team of GS&M C&K Senior Managers to ensure that team goals and activities remain consistent and aligned to the overall strategy and direction of KPMG’s C&K programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Influence and develop (in conjunction with the Director of GS&M C&K) the strategic direction for KM within the LoB/Sector and in relevant Global Accounts (Tier 1), ensuring it supports (and influences as appropriate) the broader GS&M Knowledge Strategy
  • Trusted advisor status with LoB/Sector leadership on matters related to KM, knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Set knowledge strategies, priorities, and goals for assigned LoB/Sector, CoEs, Value Propositions and Global Accounts (Tier 1) in conjunction with the Director of GS&M C&K
  • Identify requirements and opportunities related to collaborative approaches to knowledge sharing (e.g. Communities of Practice) across the LoB/Sector, the wider GS&M network, and beyond
  • Work with the Director of GS&M C&K to measure, monitor, influence and continuously improve the success of the GS&M KM and Research programs and take responsibility for ensuring that all relevant LoB/Sector requirements are considered in strategies, programs, and processes
  • Working within the strategy laid out by the Research Lead identify and advise Sector, Global Accounts and CoEs on available (and recommended) research, competitive intelligence and Go-To-Market products
  • Serve as advisor and catalyst in developing global perspectives on approaches to knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Accountable for ensuring that the KM program leverages leading practices, agreed standards, and aligns with GS&M and firm-wide KM programs (including taxonomies, UI, and use of offshore resources)
  • Work jointly with the Director of GS&M C&K to provide input into relevant forums and steering groups (GS&M/firm-wide level) to ensure GS&M requirements are considered /met
  • Provide leadership on content architecture for assigned content areas i.e. providing input to the design and build of knowledge channels around assigned content areas to facilitate easy access to relevant knowledge and/or expertise
  • Provide leadership on the deployment of communications and awareness programs related to KM, knowledge sources and relevant tools
  • Liaise with other Sector and Function Knowledge Managers to understand content coverage and priorities across organizations and to decide ownership/integration strategies to prevent redundancies/gaps
  • Monitor, approve and advise on the rollout and deployment of complex and large scale initiatives at the LoB/Sector level as required, ensuring alignment with knowledge enablement strategy and associated initiatives.

Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in related field;
