Global Risk & Compliance Analyst - Open to flexibility

We’re a young company born from an incredible entrepreneurial legacy. The success of Guinness, Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Tanqueray and many more, over hundreds of years, led to the formation of our company in 1997.

Risk management, a robust controls environment, and a compliant approach where we do the right thing every day, lie at the heart of how we do business. This role will be part of the Global Risk & Compliance (GRC) team, which is based in various locations but centred in London. The role will work both with the team and global functions and markets to deliver insights on the Diageo Controls, Compliance and Ethics programme as well as reporting.

The role supports the GRC team through gathering and interpreting data to provide insights, forecasts and reporting on global risk management, control and compliance agenda items.
As such, an initial priority for the role holder will be to establish good working relationships within the GRC team (to understand data complexities of risk, control and compliance programmes, the cause/effect of issues and trends for each agenda item) and also with their CCE contacts across the globe.

  • Conduct data analysis on key elements of the GRC programme (e.g. controls, risk and compliance data) and generate insights on current trends, issues and red flags, identifying integration points.
  • Work with and through others in the Global Risk & Compliance team and broader CC&E community to deliver clear strategic insights and future predictions, leveraging expertise and experience in the team to deploy.
  • Support the Global Risk & Compliance leadership team in key aspects of reporting, e.g. to the Exec (Audit Risk Committee) and Board (Audit Committee) and other forums as appropriate.
  • Stay connected to external developments in GRC data analytics, data mining tools & practices to grow expert functional knowledge.  Research external trends and benchmark Diageo’s risk & compliance programme & bring ideas for further development
  • Provide super user support and engage with vendors if required to allow for effective usage of databases and tools (e.g. Compliance Desktop, Navex Breach Management tool)

 Qualifications and experience required

  • Professional qualification with 2 years PQE.  Part-qualified will only be considered from otherwise outstanding candidates
  • Core analytic skills
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills to allow for high quality reporting and insights communications
  • Proven experience of working across a wide range of data platforms would be a significant advantage
  • Desirable: direct experience of working in risk and control function of a large international company, or of providing data insight consulting services in the area of governance, risk, internal control and compliance.
