The Employee Relations Senior Adviser plays a pivotal role in the effective management of people related matters. You will be expected to seek continual improvement and ensure timely delivery with genuine care and attention.

Making quality second nature. This means doing what’s right even when no one’s looking. The work that you will do has a major impact on our clients and our firm. We pride ourselves on the high-level standards we have for the work that we do.
Own your own work. You will advise, coach and up-skill people managers and other People and Culture Client Experience team members when required. You will manage long term sickness and other absence management cases. You will manage complex capability and disciplinary cases as well as conducting investigations and hearing appeals conflict resolution. You will assist Senior Managers on national or local redundancy and restructuring programmes and projects, as well as assisting on larger acquisition and disposal projects. You will use the case management system to ensure quality timely management information reporting is possible and manage our risk, assessing and judging non-financial as well as financial outcomes on case work. You will proactively support the culture of continuous improvement and initiatives within the team and undertake other tasks as required to meet the demands of the business.
Be a part of a team. You will engage with key stakeholders and work in close collaboration with other People and Culture colleagues such as the HR Shared Services team, Strategic Business Partners, Resourcing and the People Advisory Client Experience team
Take responsibility. You will facilitate upskilling workshops and advise colleagues in the Managers on People and Culture Client Experience team on ER best practice policies and procedures. You will advise and coach people managers on how to reach fair informal and formal resolutions to potential conflict situations to prevent escalation into and employee relation cases. You will assess and advise to ensure that individuals are treated in a fair and consistent manner across the firm and that they are treated with respect. You will provide a consistent culture of excellence, delivering the team and firm’s strategy.
Build your brand. Given the importance of this role, there will be exciting opportunities for the right person to develop both their technical and personal skills in accordance with a personal development plan and keep records for CPD purposes.
The minimum criteria
- You will be level 5 CIPD qualified.
- You will have a proven track record of dealing with complex case, such as disciplinaries, capabilities, grievances, absence management and employee relations as well as change management.
- You will have strong written and verbal skills including detailed report writing and note taking.
This is a National role focused in the South of the country predominately but with the expectation and will be able to travel, in particular to London and the South when required.

- You will have experience of working in professional services or a corporate firm environment.
- You will have strong written and verbal skills You will be proficient in digital skills and use of technology.
- You have technical experience in TUPE acquisitions and disposals.
- You have a mediation or coaching qualification.
- You are Level 7 CIPD qualified.
