As Policy & Stakeholder Manager you’ll be part of a small team that is supporting the delivery of the Retail Energy Code – a new industry code that will make switching energy supplier faster and more reliable for consumers. It will introduce best-in-class industry code governance and make the energy retail market easier to understand for new, innovative market participants. 

You’ll have the opportunity to work with industry code bodies and subject matter experts to ensure that the programme is delivered to a high quality. You’ll also lead on internal governance and reporting for the project, making sure that the team achieves key milestones and effectively manages risk. It’s a role that will suit someone with experience in analysing policy issues – evaluating different approaches and making recommendations (particularly in relation to regulation). 

You should have a track record of producing high-quality policy papers that inform and support effective debate. You should be able to take the initiative in moving projects forward, drawing on highly developed communication and influencing skills to engage and inform colleagues and stakeholders. You’ll need good project management skills, that enable you to get the best from others’ contribution, to report regularly on progress, and to assess and manage project risk. You’ll be accustomed to working with internal and external stakeholders in testing policy proposals and incorporating their views and expertise into subsequent drafts. And you’ll need good all-round organisational skills that enable you to prioritise complex tasks to meet competing deadlines. We have two roles available, and have some flexibility to shape each role to the interests, skills and experience of the successful candidates.
