Ofgem works on behalf of energy consumers to ensure that every household and business in the UK can rely on a safe, affordable and environmentally sustainable energy supply. What we do matters: making a difference to people’s lives now, and for generations to come. We offer a diverse range of flexible working career opportunities: roles that are stimulating and rewarding. And it’s important to us that we recruit from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds – bringing different perspectives and experiences to our work.

Ofgem is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We embrace diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All employment is decided on the basis of open and fair competition, merit and business need.

Our Retail Compliance team works to ensure that energy suppliers follow relevant regulations and legislation and help to achieve better outcomes for consumers. As a Compliance Analyst you’ll gather and review intelligence from a variety of sources to identify and investigate any potential areas of non-compliant activity. It’s a fast-paced working environment that will suit someone who can establish good working relationships with industry participants and analyse evidence and data to draw conclusions and make recommendations on appropriate intervention.

It’s important that you have strong communication skills and that you can engage professionally (in writing and in person) with stakeholders at all levels. You should be well-organised with project management skills that enable you to prioritise your work to meet competing deadlines. You should be able to build positive working relationships across different teams and possess analytical skills that enable you to get to the bottom of issues and topics and make clear recommendations. Previous experience in the energy industry or compliance work will be of value.

Ofgem can offer you a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:

  • Up to 30 days’ annual leave
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • The opportunity to join the Civil Service pension arrangements, which include a valuable range of benefits
  • Flexible working hours and family friendly policies
  • Subsidised gym
  •  Interest free season ticket loan
  • Rental deposit scheme
  • Perkbox (staff discount scheme)
  • Employee Wellbeing Programme.

Closing date: 11.55pm on Monday 30th November 2020.
