In order to build and maintain UKHO’s data partnerships and relationships across the Middle East and Africa region, we are seeking a Partnering and Engagement Officer to be part of our Global Partnering and Engagement team, which maintains data supply to enable our global portfolio of products and services to develop and grow. This role offers a career defining opportunity within a leading, modern and progressive agency.
About the UKHO
UKHO is an executive agency, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence. We work with a wide range of data suppliers and partners, surveying and charting the world's oceans in order to develop and serve world leading software and data solutions to commercial shipping companies, navies and maritime organisations. Our products ensure safe navigation and global trade efficiency and support other marine activities including economic development, environmental protection, resource exploration and utilisation, scientific research and security and defence.
You will support the Head of Partnering and Engagement as you become an expert in the Middle East and Africa region through desk-based research, preparing briefs for events such as the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) Regional Hydrographic Commissions, leading the day-to-day management of data partnerships and acting as a consistent and knowledgeable UKHO point of contact for the region.
This is a busy role involving occasional international travel, working autonomously with the mandate to build relationships across the Middle East and Africa. Additionally, you will act as the guardian for information relevant to the region, ensuring that it is stored according to Data Acquisition Division Policy.
What we are looking for
You will be a team player with good interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy. You will also be able to work on your own, organising and prioritising own workload, be effective under pressure and will not be phased by tackling new pieces of work. Proactive and innovative in solving problems, you must be comfortable engaging with all levels of staff both internally and externally.
And in return?
UKHO is a great place in which to explore your career potential and offers a wealth of training and development opportunities. While our projects are career-defining, the work/life balance that we can offer you is equally exceptional. Peoples’ start and end times are built around their own preferences. We’re all set up for working from home and encourage people to make use of this if they prefer. We are committed to providing part time options and reasonable accommodations and will work with you to meet your needs. We also have an award-winning office environment, wellbeing schemes, a generous annual leave allowance, and access to MOD and Civil service discounts, the opportunities open to you here are hard to beat.
