The role

As the Empty Homes Officer you will contribute to the council’s private rented sector housing strategy by maximising the number of empty private sector residential properties returned to occupied use.
You will be set targets for the number of empty homes returned to use, including those subsequently rented out via in-house PRS access schemes.
Another focus of the role will be to ensure that Council resources are protected and only allocated to those in genuine need by detecting and preventing fraud, whilst you will be expected to maximise Camden’s use of relevant grants.

Aout You

You will have created, maintained and used data to measure and improve service performance whilst you will also have at least one year’s experience of contributing to the returning of empty homes into occupied use.

Working knowledge of enforcement action such as CPO work is advantageous as would experience of contributing to policy or strategic work on empty homes and project management.
No formal qualifications are required but a high standard of general education attainment would be of benefit.
