Reporting in to the Head of Digital Execution we are recruiting for a new role – Search Manager. As Search Manager, you will be passionate about ensuring Diageo understands and maximises the possibilities of all things search. Working in a team of subject matter experts, you know what it takes to win in search alongside the other digital channels and will support our brand teams to do just that.  

 Key Responsibilities

  • You will work in a team of Digital Subject Matter Experts (e.g. Social, Search) who offer expertise and guidance to brand teams across the communications planning process, and enable exceptional execution in the digital space
  • You will identify opportunities to maximise our effectiveness in search, as well as opportunities for collaboration cross-discipline
  • Helping to define global search KPIs and benchmarks, and help define local benchmarks in collaboration with markets, working with local markets to accelerate Search performance against these targets
  • Working with the Head of Digital Execution to ensure that the stand-out skills and experience each Subject Matter Expert brings is injected back into the business, upskilling our marketing community in each digital discipline
  • You will be able to dentify new opportunities for better search execution and work with brand marketers to run test & learn programs

Successful candidates will be able to:

  • Contribute thought leadership and challenge the status quo whilst also working in a highly collaborative, agile manner
  • Input into multiple brand relationships and digital projects simultaneously
  • Track Search campaign benefits against established KPIs

Experience Required

  • From AdWords to website optimisation to video search, you will already be an expert in search execution – and you’ll be keeping up to speed with new developments in this field too.
  • You’ll have a thorough understanding of how consumers use search, relevant to a FMCG advertiser like Diageo and our brands
  • Experienced in PPC optimisation – from ad copy testing to use of new innovations in ad extensions as well as situations where multiple brands in category portfolios might be in completion for the same category keywords
  • Earned Search – working with News sites, bloggers, PR agencies, Retailer Marketing teams etc. to generate brand mentions via their Search results…
  • Measurement of Search performance – both holistically and tactically
  • Experience in working with Google Search and YouTube specialists desired
