KPMG intends to develop a broad base of asset based solutions, data analytics and otherwise to underpin their strategic performance goals. KPMG Tech Solutions are responsible for technology asset development and related client services. KPMG utilise a mix of in house development resources and external specialist software supply.

The role involves working with senior Solutions Architects, key clients and KPMG subject matter experts to define and manufacture leading edge SOA solutions using Microsoft Service Bus and WCF.

You may already be working for a vendor that supplies BPM/CRM/ERP or Analytical solutions, or be working as a consultant; but your technical skills, creativity, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills will be the key to success working at KPMG. You must be a passionate and committed about solutions architecture and a confident self-starter.

We work in a very flat organisation structure, so you’ll need to be a strong negotiator, influencer and team player, used to managing multiple stakeholders in demanding time-critical situations.

The Senior SOA developer role is London based, but there is an expectation for you to travel to client sites, and other KPMG UK offices, when needed.

The Role

  • Working closely with Partners, Directors and senior Solutions Architects as well as our Clients to document and define technology solutions and take ownership of the solution design and implementation through delivery and in the live environment.
  • To be a subject matter expert within our solutions team; advise clients how to maximise benefits whilst reducing risk
  • Build deep and lasting relationships with other staff and clients to enhance the reputation of KPMG as an advisor of choice
  • To work within any of our UK offices, or on a customer site as needed
  • Taking a significant role in developing the capability of the Solutions Architect team, sharing knowledge and supporting the development of other team members
  • Consistently meeting milestones within time, cost and quality constraints
  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Being passionate about areas of expertise, managing your own development by learning continuously from experience and seeking out development opportunities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Highly proficient in C#/.Net
  • Experience preferably in software delivery environments (not just web)
  • Extensive WCF experience
  • Experience leading teams, including writing comprehensive specs and documentation for other developers to follow
  • Proficient SQL skills
  • Experience with Message bus / Publish and Subscribe architectures
  • Microsoft Azure Service Bus experience
  • Understanding of distributed / disconnected service model development using message queues
  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures Roles and Responsibilities
