KPMG is building a world class team that is devoted to helping family businesses.  We are looking for a Director to Join our team to support the delivery of a high quality service to our Family Business Clients and to help grow our business offering. This will be a national role and we are open to where the Individual will be based.

We require a consultant who will:

  • Win and deliver family business consulting projects with new and existing clients
  • Play an active role in the development of the team
  • Develop market leading thought leadership that families will find both interesting and insightful
  • Over time, understand the wider offerings of KPMG with a view (where appropriate) to introducing colleagues to work with families
  • Work with the KPMG Global Family Business team to serve international families

We will provide:

  • Training in an innovative range of consulting services using a proven consulting framework and tools that are based on a comprehensive body of knowledge
  • The opportunity to develop your knowledge in this field of practice, including having an active role in providing education and training

We are looking for someone with the following characteristics:

  • A good understanding of family businesses and how they work
  • Accomplishments in advising family businesses and articulating the value of such advice
  • Commitment to education and training in this field of practice, for example through FFI (Family Firm Institutes) or STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners)
  • Open-minded to new ideas and new ways of providing practical help to family businesses.
  • The desire to be part of an innovative family business practice that is primarily focused on working across the United Kingdom
  • Proven track record in a client-facing professional role, and understanding of professional services markets would be an advantage

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate decisions and findings
  • Relationship building and networking skills – ability to forge strong working relationships with stakeholders both within and outside of immediate skill set/capability area
  • Strong questioning and listening skills with ability to see the bigger picture
  • Highly motivated team player
  • Positive and enthusiastic manner in dealing with a cross section of people
  • Be well organised, detail-conscious, pro-active, hard-working
