The Team

In Financial Management, we improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function and generate real insights to help deliver value to the business.  We are structured by market segment with our consultants having deep industry specific expertise, but our team is also structured by capabilities (Finance Strategy & Transformation, Enterprise Performance Management, and Finance Operations).  Our mission statement is to create a sustainable practice which is recognised as being number one in the industry.

Working within the Financial Management team will provide an unparalleled opportunity to further experience in target operating model design and implementation, finance transformation, enterprise performance management, process improvement and change management skills, all of which are invaluable in today’s market place.  Our go to market approach is business-focused and our solutions are developed around client issues.

We are looking to recruit candidates at Manager level with skills to support our growth strategy, to work across our financial management capability offerings with leading Private Sector organisations in the Business to Business market.

As part of this team, you will be working with a broad range of clients from the initial diagnosis, strategy formulation and analysis, through to implementation.

The Role

  • Engagement delivery: leading and managing projects or work-streams of small to medium size and complexity (including planning and organising work packages, overseeing data gathering and analysis, summarising insights and presenting results, owning client relationships and  preparing and chairing client meetings and workshops)
  • Business development: developing a strong understanding of client needs and building positive, long-standing relationships with clients through engagement delivery; identifying business development opportunities, and supporting the business development activity of senior members of the team (including shaping and presenting proposals/ bids for future work and managing proposal development activities)
  • Risk management: identifying and managing risks and ensuring the Firm's frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively
  • People development: performance management including identifying team member development needs and accelerating development with particular emphasis on coaching and skills transfer
  • Practice development: taking a leading role in processes and initiatives that are key to scaling the business

The Person

Successful candidates should have strong finance knowledge and be able to demonstrate the following skills / experience:

  • Accountancy qualification – ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent
  • Business to Business sector experience (i.e. Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Aerospace & Defence); whether in BAU or a change role
  • Experience within at least one of the Financial Management capability offerings
  • Finance Strategy & Transformation (FS&T) – Finance function strategy & vision, Target Operating Model (TOM) design, planning and implementing change in the finance function
  • Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) – Performance reporting, cost & profitability, data analytics, planning budgeting & forecasting
  • Efficient Finance Operations (EFO) – Finance function cost & process optimisation, robotic process automation & cognitive technologies, shared service & outsourcing
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Experience within a project / finance change environment
  • Ability to take on significant delivery role on a project
  • Experience of working in client facing role delivering high quality work to tight deadlines
  • Strong commercial and financial analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, generate insights and construct solutions. Strong excel skills preferable
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Good communicator with the personal skills to build strong and lasting internal and client relationships
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Understanding of issues and challenges facing Finance function and trends in Finance
  • Able to demonstrate project management with a proven track record in delivering high quality project or work-stream outputs
  • Strong people manager, able to lead small teams and develop others
