Our client is a SME technology/software business and they are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their business on a flexible working basis. The role is for an experienced software sales professional with responsibility for the development of new business primarily within the NHS.



  • Help develop market research and sales delivery campaigns with marketing team
  • Identify target and profile prospective customers within the NHS
  • Develop and execute effective sales plans to gain potential clients
  • Develop long term relationships with prospective clients
  • Network, attend exhibitions, events and workshops to develop new business prospects
  • Prepare and deliver new business presentations and demonstrations on software to groups
  • Prepare business cases, quotations, bids and tenders for prospective clients
  • Negotiate contracts and liaise with clients purchasing departments to agree contracts
  • Meet and exceed individual and team targets


  • Previous new business sales experience selling to the NHS
  • Existing contacts with the NHS
  • Previous B2B software sales experience
  • An understanding of the NHS/healthcare sector
  • Must be able to drive and have their own transport
  • Happy to work to targets

This a great role to work flexibly from home with some travel.

  • Salary: £35,000- £40,000 + commission OTE £75K
  • Flexibility - 5 days a week, home based with some travel to client sites
  • Location: Candidates will ideally be Midlands based as the role has national coverage but as long as he/she is happy to travel to clients nationwide he/she could be based anywhere within the UK
