Head of Audit - Commercial Credit Risk - Open to flexibility

As Head of Audit, Commercial Credit Risk, you'll be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a high quality audit response through the management of a team, influencing business strategy, working practices and standards by providing insight, judgment and technical expertise.

Focus areas include: Credit Risk appetite and strategy; Commercial Credit decision-making and monitoring; Impairment and arrears management across the full range of commercial, corporate and wholesale credit exposures.

You'll proactively challenge, advise and influence senior management and executives on a wide range of commercial credit-related issues. You will understand the cultural aspects of risk management and be capable of designing and delivering solid strategies. You'll be involved in the identification of issues and delivery of hard messages to business leaders, but able to bring a positive outlook whilst articulating and presenting necessary changes that will enhance the safety and sustainability of the Group. Naturally, you'll apply and champion the Group Audit methodology and standards and keep abreast of audit best practice and the changing regulatory environment.

In addition, you will have a strong understanding of Risk Management Frameworks including design and operation of the 3 Lines of Defence; and the Regulatory environment in which LBG operates.

As a Senior Leader, you'll develop, coach and motivate colleagues to create high performing teams that consistently demonstrate group values. You will also support the Audit Director for Prudential Risks in delivering this core assurance. You'll have high levels of gravitas and the ability to influence in a complex and diverse stakeholder environment. You'll also have a proven track record of delivery, managing under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills are essential.

You will come from an Audit and/or Risk background with detailed knowledge of commercial credit risk management and a good knowledge of wider aspects of risk management. Ideally you'll possess professional qualifications, a recognised accounting/auditing qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar, with extensive post-qualification experience. You'll have audited (internally and/or externally) within Financial Services, as well as having broad knowledge around risk management.
