In the Scotland, a new Clients Portfolio Manager role is required to drive the key client programme with a focus on the priority clients and to support the Clients & Industries Lead in the region with the development and delivery of the regional Clients & Industries plan. This is an internal business development role, supporting the business to be successful and focused in the market.

Your role

This role will be required to drive and support relationship and sales enablement activity and to assist in the establishment of a Regional Major Relationship (‘SUPERCHARGE’) programme to create the governance and support required to maximize the focus on these clients. The role is expected to lead this programme for S&NI, working closely with the senior leadership team across the offices in the region.

This will entail providing advice, guidance and support to the Client Lead Partners, Client Service Teams and senior leadership team in the region, acting as a Clients & Industries ambassador for the Practice Senior Partner. This will include, leveraging the regional marketing team, national campaigns and client relationship development assets to grow, retain and target the region’s key client population and specific largest and most influential accounts. Whilst it is anticipated that this role will be predominantly focused on Scotland, with some ad hoc support for lead Partners and Client Account teams in Northern Ireland on occasion. Offices include Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Belfast.

Your professional experience

  • Extensive marketing and business development experience ideally within a regional setting
  • Business development/sales coaching with senior leaders
  • Consulting with senior stakeholders
  • Setting out a clear vision and direction
  • Designing and overseeing the implementation of integrated Clients & Industries plans
  • Degree and/or CIM qualified
  • Proven track record of working in a complex, matrix or multi-faceted environment



  • Excellent communication skills are necessary - in particular a high level of written and spoken English. 
  • Must be capable of interacting with client board members, other senior clients, senior Deloitte partners and external senior advisors
  • Influencing skills - as a specialist adviser to the partnership, the post holder will need to be able to put his/her views across clearly and have the confidence to challenge senior people
  • Demonstrate a strong level of emotional intelligence, experience of managing complex situations successfully

  • Strong commercial awareness of relevant issues
  • Strategic thinker who can identify themes/issues for the regional firm
