The tax landscape is undergoing significant change; with changes to tax legislation, increased media focus and scrutiny, technology advancements, and the increasingly global reach of clients, all coming together to shape an exciting and challenging future in the market for tax services.

Deloitte’s Tax Management Consulting Team (TMC) has a market leading reputation; bringing together a unique blend of consulting, technology, tax technical experience to help businesses meet the challenges of multi-jurisdictional tax operations, including compliance, reporting, tax technology and tax risk management.

In light of these changing circumstances, we are seeing an increase number of our clients focusing on ensuring they have the right processes, technology and operating model for the accurate implementation of their transfer pricing policies.

Within TMC, we also have our S/4HANA Tax Value Proposition, with a fast growing team and a super-growth ambition. We will undertake an unprecedented wave of S/4HANA implementations over the next few years, with tax and finance stakeholders looking this as an opportunity to help improve the Operational Transfer Pricing processes.

This proposition is uniquely positioned to be a key differentiator for the firm-wide SAP-enabled business transformation practice across UK and Europe. Being part of the Operational Transfer Pricing team, you will have plenty of opportunities to work on large-scale S/4HANA projects as part of complex business transformations. You'll work with a wide range of colleagues and clients, exposing you to cutting edge tax technology work in a strategic, commercial and business context. You will find opportunities to apply an impressive range of broad consulting and functional skills that will enhance your career.

Are you looking to return to the workplace after an extended career break?
For this role we can offer coaching and support designed for returners to refresh your knowledge and skills, and help your transition back into the workplace after a career break of 2 years or more. If this is relevant for you, just let your recruiter know when you make your application.

Your role
We are looking for candidates that can help lead Finance Transformation programmes with a focus on Operational Transfer Pricing whilst being able to help grow the proposition.

Your role will entail leading engagements including being responsible for stakeholder management, project delivery lead and growing the team. Typical elements of the project involve gathering business requirements, analysing supply-chains and business processes to assess the required functional specifications, evaluating the current systems landscape and proposed future state in order to identify gaps and improvement areas, helping with vendor selections, involved in the build and test of the technology solutions, along with overseeing development/ managing junior team members.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to align the global Tax and Legal landscape with the business’ activities and proposed wider business processes and connect data available in underlying systems to business processes. You will be the lynchpin between the tax technical and technology teams, ensuring that we build the best Tax design for the client. This will require the ability to explain complex terms to a variety of different stakeholders, and in a way that is relevant to each stakeholder group.

• Working with clients to understand their tax and business requirements – then using this knowledge to facilitate the optimal design within the S/4HANA landscape and / or supplement with the right mix of alternative tax technology solutions.
• This would include both an understanding of the wider processes and controls required, as well as analysis of the benefits and other consideration for the client of different options for delivery of the required solutions and processes.
• Overseeing the project delivery team in designing, building and testing for Operational Transfer Pricing in SAP systems (or wider tax technology solutions) to meet clients’ requirements
• Work with and lead the team to design, build and integrate tax requirements and processes into SAP systems architecture (or wider tax technology solutions) to meet clients’ requirements. Experience building using modules within SAP, in particular PAPM and SAC, would be highly beneficial.
• Understand systems architecture (SAP and other tax systems) currently in place and work with technical staff to recommend solutions (SAP or alternative solutions) to improve it or fill the gap
• Be able to manage senior stakeholders including presenting at Steering Committee meetings
• Provide supervision and guidance to development teams and manage junior resources/ team members
• Continually research current and emerging technologies (within SAP and other technologies) and propose changes as part of Deloitte’s S/4HANA Value Proposition
• Help build internal efficiencies and accelerators for the proposition
• Respond to requests for proposals from prospective clients
• Help shape the ‘go to market’ strategy for the proposition, including being a key liaison point with the Deloitte Consulting service line

Your home office will be London, but this client-facing role provides lots of opportunity for travel in the UK and overseas (subject to the projects that you are working on).

You’ll find a diverse mix of people, all working together to deliver best-in-class advice. And you’ll discover a structured programme that will help you develop even greater expertise. From fascinating projects to a wealth of secondment opportunities, both in the UK and overseas, you can enjoy a broad and rich career experience.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm. The recruitment team will provide further detail as you progress through the recruitment process.
