This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop their experience in a Programme Management Office setting. You’ll be involved in a range of projects and fulfil a key role in reporting on progress to senior management and ensuring effective governance arrangements support great project outcomes. You’ll work with a wide range of people across the organisation to collect and report on project progress and highlight any issues. It’s a highly varied role that will suit someone who enjoys working at pace, who wants to get under the skin of the information they report on and can see how different work streams and initiatives can impact on one another. 

You should already be familiar with PMO and Project Management methodologies, including working in an Agile environment and applying risk management techniques. You’ll need excellent communication skills (in writing and in person) and to be able to establish positive working relationship with colleagues across the business, including senior stakeholders. Whatever sector your background is in, it’s important that you bring a highly organised approach to your work.

Job description

Working within the PMO team and alongside the Delivery and Product Management teams and Senior Managers in the Delivery Hub – Digital area, you will be responsible for supporting the monitoring and reporting on E-Serve’s Agile project and product portfolio.

You will work within a small team of staff who are responsible for:

  • Operating and continuously improving an effective PMO function
  • Ensuring proper governance is implemented & adhered to

The role requires knowledge of best practices in the operation of a Programme Management Office.

This role will require a collaborative approach in working with colleagues both within and outside the Delivery Hub. The right candidate will have project and programme management experience, and a pragmatic approach that balances the need for governance and rigour, while not over-burdening the stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support an effective PMO function.
  • Support with project and programme governance arrangements.
  • Support the review of and revise the existing Project Management Framework and templates.
  • Support projects as required
  • Assess PMO tools and techniques and bring about positive change to how the PMO function operates.
