Finance Manager - Execution and CVA, Open to flexibility

The Group Balance Sheet Management (GBSM) team is part of Group Corporate Treasury and is made up of employees based in London and Halifax. It has a number of responsibilities split around four different teams: the Balance Sheet Optimisation, Policy & FTP team, the Execution Desk, the Group ALM team, and the ALM & Market Risk Reporting team.

The Execution Desk (which is composed of the CVA Team, the Jersey ALM Team and the BSM Execution Team) is responsible for aggregating market risks from different business areas across LBG. Using a mix of internal offsets and external hedging transactions, the Execution Desk acts as an agent for the GCT business and the divisions to source market prices and help facilitate tactical and strategic transactions. The team is based in London but has colleagues posted in Jersey to help support the Islands business.

We offer an exciting opportunity to join the CVA Team in London. The team manages the Counterparty Credit risk on LBG's uncollateralised derivative book. There are several aspects to this, from pricing C&FVA on a deal by deal basis to hedging through derivatives markets to minimise pnl volatility.

To enjoy success in this role you'll have experience in:

  • Financial markets, preferably with a trading role in rates / FX / inflation / credit

Experience working with xVA

  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills, business awareness, and influencing skills
  • Ability to develop complex financial models and simulations
  • Strong computer literacy with excellent modelling skills
  • Ability to liaise with all levels of staff and to explain complex technical issues to non-technical staff
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines, individually and as part of a team
  • A Pro-active "get things done" approach to work
  • Strong analytical skillset

And preferably:

  • Education to degree level in a numerate subject (2:1 or above/equivalent)
  • Understanding of financial services industry
