The Engineering function at the GSK Ware GMS (Global Manufacturing and Supply) site is responsible for the provision of technical expertise to support the manufacturing, automation and controls systems for all production operations to ensure production targets are achieved.

We are looking for a dynamic and driven Senior Engineer to join the engineering function at the PSC Manufacturing site at Ware. The successful applicants will be aligned to specific parts of the RSC (Respiratory Supply Chain) or OSD (Oral Solid Dose) department. You and your team will take responsibility for leading equipment process improvements across your specified area/function. You will work alongside fellow engineers, contractors, suppliers and consultants to deliver a range of engineering-related activities to agreed levels of safety, quality, cost, time and tangible benefit. The role requires a close working relationship with the production, quality and technical functions in a variety of departments.

You will have an in depth understanding of the designated process, whilst managing through a broad network of "Subject Matter Experts". You will have responsibility for overall equipment performance, including making improvements to ensure delivery of the Site's commercial objectives. You will also support with any regulatory audit questions during inspections.

In relation to the engineering manufacturing elements of the role you will ideally be able to demonstrate a level of knowledge concerning the pharmaceutical manufacturing area. You will also be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives through increasing equipment safety and quality performance, reliability and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

About You:

This role would suit a driven and motivated individual who has strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment. You will be a qualified engineer, with strong people skills. A proven ability to drive performance is a must. It is imperative in this role that you demonstrate an ability to drive common-objective thinking, with a complete focus on providing solutions. You will need to be persuasive, have a strong continuous improvement mindset, and have proven experience dealing with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups. Ideally you will have worked in a highly regulated industry.

About Ware Manufacturing Site:

Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are life saving medicines. A series of investments in new state-of-the-art equipment are being made that will support the delivery of a record number of new products. This must be achieved whilst consistently delivering outstanding quality, service and value to our patients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications and / or experience (eg; Experience of pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing, ideally within production)
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent experience)
