Net Zero Strategy Analyst, Open to flexible working

The energy sector is undergoing an unprecedented and far-reaching transformation to support the journey to a net-zero future, and Ofgem will play a central role in the transition to this goal. Our Strategy and Decarbonisation Directorate will be key to this: pursuing decarbonisation while protecting the interests of energy consumers and helping to transform Ofgem into a more strategic, dynamic and impactful organisation. As a Net Zero Strategy Analyst you will draw on information from a wide range of sources to inform the development of net zero and strategy projects.
Alongside excellent analytical skills you’ll need to demonstrate an understanding of the energy sector, or experience of other policy / regulatory work. You should be comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative information and be able to communicate your findings effectively, in writing and in person. It’s important that you can establish positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders and that you can work well in a team environment, while taking personal responsibility for your work. Good organisation skills will be valuable in helping you to plan and prioritise a wide range of complex tasks. It’s likely that you are educated to degree level in an analytical discipline, or that you can demonstrate equivalent expertise through practical, professional experience; and you should be able to work effectively with strategic themes and concepts – always seeing your work and that of your team in a wider context.
