The Peter Pan Moat Brae Trust is seeking a Finance Manager to manage and monitor all aspects of the financial operations for the Trust. They will have responsibility for updating the existing financial protocols, establishing new financial systems, and generally managing the finances of Moat Brae, the National Centre for Children's Literature and Storytelling, based in Dumfries.
The financial systems and procedures will relate to the operations of both the visitor attraction and its trading subsidiary as well as the charitable functions of the Trust. As part of the management team the postholder will manage and report on revenue streams from commercial services (admissions, caf??, shop, venue hire and events), charitable funding from public and private sources and capital projects.
Within this role, key duties include the preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, the analysis of variances to budgets, statutory financial reporting, managing the annual budgetary process, and preparing cashflows and forecasts.
The postholder will line manage / be supported by a part-time Finance Assistant.
This position would suit someone who is adept at, and has experience of, setting up and running with financial systems for charitable trusts and small companies.
The post is permanent and part-time (21 hours a week / 0.6 full-time equivalent), subject to a six-month probationary period.
The ideal candidate should:
- be a Qualified or part-Qualified Accountant
- have a minimum of three years' experience in all aspects of working in a finance department
- have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and experience of using Sage 50 (or similar)
- have experience in all aspects of financial and management reporting.
