What we do matters: making a difference to people’s lives now, and for generations to come. We offer a diverse range of flexible working career opportunities: roles that are stimulating and rewarding. And it’s important to us that we recruit from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds – bringing different perspectives and experiences to our work.

We now have an opportunity for a Policy Manager to join our Electricity Network Charging team. It’s a dynamic area of energy regulation that can deliver positive outcomes for market participants and energy consumers. You can expect to work on issues such as Significant Code Reviews and industry network code modifications – working closely with colleagues and industry participants to understand and evaluate policy options, representing Ofgem in a range of settings. By providing high quality, timely, and robust analysis of policy options you’ll enable evidence-based recommendations and decision-making and policy outcomes that benefit energy consumers while supporting the journey to Net Zero by 2050.

Excellent communication skills (in writing and in person) will be key, along with the ability to establish positive working relationships with stakeholders that enable you to engage, advise and influence on behalf of Ofgem. It’s also important that you offer good project management skills and a track record of managing competing priorities to meet challenging deadlines.
