Policy Manager- Electricity Network Charging, Open to flexible working

We now have an opportunity for a Policy Manager to join our Electricity Network Charging team. This team works to ensure that the costs of the electricity networks are recovered fairly and that the users of the networks have the right incentives to use the system efficiently. It’s a dynamic area of energy regulation that can deliver positive outcomes for market participants and energy consumers. You can expect to work on issues such as Significant Code Reviews and industry network code modifications – working closely with colleagues and industry participants to understand and evaluate policy options, representing Ofgem in a range of settings. By providing high quality, timely, and robust analysis of policy options you’ll enable evidence-based recommendations and decision-making and policy outcomes that benefit energy consumers while supporting the journey to Net Zero by 2050.
You should be comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data and evaluating complex concepts and issues to make well-researched policy recommendations. Excellent communication skills (in writing and in person) will be key, along with the ability to establish positive working relationships with stakeholders that enable you to engage, advise and influence on behalf of Ofgem. It’s also important that you offer good project management skills and a track record of managing competing priorities to meet challenging deadlines.
