Operating in an Agile environment, you’ll collaborate with project managers, technical leads and subject matter experts - working on a number of websites that Ofgem develops that are subsequently used by energy suppliers. You’ll plan and undertake manual tests and write automated tests, using BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) methodologies. As well as acting as the team’s subject matter expert in testing tools or environments, you’ll look for opportunities to enhance how the wider team operates, and identifying opportunities to make better use of automation. It’s an opportunity to work with a range of different technologies in an environment where you are encouraged to be creative (while following agreed working/coding standards) and where you’ll have plenty of scope to develop your professional knowledge and skills.
We expect that you’ll bring a thorough understanding of Agile development and quality assurance methodologies, alongside previous experience in using SQL within databases. You’ll have a good knowledge of functional testing that addresses a number of the following areas: integration, smoke, user acceptance, interface, usability, system, API and regression. You’ll also need to have good knowledge of writing automation tests, utilising Specflow, and Selenium in .NET. It’s a role that will allow you to work with a range of different technologies in an environment where you are encouraged to be creative and where you’ll have plenty of scope to develop your professional knowledge and skills.
