Product Specialist/Training & Support Analyst, Open to flexible working

Established in 2000, our client is a specialist provider of digital mapping, travel time analysis and public transport data solutions.  In 2013 they launched a leading travel time analysis solution, which has helped their clients to produce accurate, public transport and road based travel time analysis, quickly and easily, so that they can make informed business decisions.  Since the launch they have launched other products allowing users to visualise congestion information and purchase premium data from our client and its partners.  They also provides training and consultancy as well as a broad range of national datasets from Ordnance Survey and other leading data providers.

Reporting to the Product Manager, the successful candidate will assist in delivering training courses and supporting users pre and post implementation. 

Key job tasks are to:

  • Design and deliver training courses both remotely and face to face
  • Provide support for the product suite for users who contact our client via the support email address or through the forum
  • Draft functional specifications for new features and work with the technical team to implement these features
  • Document and execute regression and user acceptance tests for existing and new features
  • Create and maintain help files for other products
  • Provide product demonstrations to prospective clients

The candidate will have:

  • A 2.1 or above in a relevant degree such as Business/IT with Geography or GIS
  • A high level of competency in the use of Office applications
  • Experience of using mapping applications (GIS) such as those from Mapinfo/ESRI
  • A clean driving licence

  • An interest in the transport sector
  • The ability to quickly build rapport and credibility with clients and prospects
  • The ability to use their initiative to improve the training and support function
  • Enthusiasm to learn about mapping software
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required
