Salary: PO5-£42,651 rising in annual increments to £45,438 pa incl. LW

Lambeth is a great place to be an Independent Reviewing Officer. Your role will be to ensure that those children who are Looked After by Lambeth are receiving an exceptional service from their corporate parent and reaching their potential. You will manage the formal review process for Children Looked After and confirm that departmental and government timescales are met.

We have implemented a systemic practice framework, which provides an approach to help us understand what is happening for a child and family so that we can practice most purposefully and respectfully. We strive for permanence and stability for all our children, and the role of the Independent Reviewing Officer is key to ensuring that this outcome continually drives the professional plan. You will be expected to model effective and collaborative relationships with multi agency partners, families and children.

You will lead on be expected to offer support and advice to practitioners working on complex cases and care planning, using your analytical skills to create a purposeful but reflective space in which practitioners can engage in professional thinking. You will be expected to make high level decisions as a body independent of operational line management in the best interests of children and families.

You will be accountable for tracking children’s plans and making sure they contribute to good outcomes and taking action when they don’t. We have high expectations but you have an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of our most vulnerable children and families.
