Cloud DevOps Engineer, North and South Europe Digital Services Team, Enabling Functions

You will engineer and deploy cloud-based solutions such as Azure and AWS using a wide range of technologies and the full range of multi cloud services, working alongside people with a diverse range of skillsets.

Your role

Deloitte Technology and Digital Services are looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building applications at scale on cloud platforms. You will have a background in the design, automation, deployment and operation of cloud infrastructure and applications.

Azure platform: 

  • Ability to build enterprise applications and solutions using Azure (expose to AWS and Google Cloud is beneficial but not required);
  • Use Infrastructure-As-Code approach to create Azure resources (ideally Terraform, but ARM is okay)
  • Develop cloud architecture and solutions optimised for cloud platforms;
  • Develop scripts to automate the deployment of Azure deployments and solutions;
  • Monitor and maintain multiple Azure solutions to meet project requirements; 
  • Setup non-prod, prod environments – this includes creation of necessary tickets (Ex: IPflow), liaise with architect to work out the infrastructure requirements (VNet/VPC) for environment provisioning. 
  • Setup and manage backups, patching and AV/malware software across the environments; Monitor Alerts/Logs for any anomalies and escalate accordingly.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge within Deloitte cloud teams;
  • Identify new tools and process to improve the cloud platform and automate processes.

DevOps Portal:

  • Setup, configuration and on-going management of Azure DevOps 
  • Setup build and release pipelines
  • Setting up repositories
  • Administration of permissions
  • Supporting Developers & Scrum Master 

Support: 

  • Support mailbox box management
  • Creation of tickets for issues for triage with relevant teams 
  • Request management (submission and receiving)

Location: London with occasional travel to Amsterdam

Work pattern: This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis.

Your professional experience

  • Experience of automation and provisioning approaches, using tools such as Terraform, Bash, PowerShell, Python & C#;
  • Knowledge of agile software development tools and methodologies;
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies, learn quickly and pass on this knowledge to other team members;
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills;
  • Strong communicator and decision maker;
  • Occasional travel to other Deloitte sites;
  • Be willing to submit to BPSS and Security Clearance (SC) vetting processes.
  • Experience of agile project management approaches and tools (e.g. Azure DevOps);

Experience in the following is desirable -

  • Any cloud architect / administrator / developer certification (AWS / Azure / GCP);
  • Proven Scripting or programming experience (Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, etc.);
  • Proven Experience of microservices and container-based systems (Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos);
  • ITIL experience; 
  • Fundamental knowledge of security best practices in cloud
