Writer / Editor – Birmingham, Open to flexible working

This role is office-based but open to a conversation about flexible hours.

Our client is a creative agency with a strong background in journalism. They help people to tell their stories using film and animation; design and graphics; words and advice. They are smart and creative in the true sense of the word. People like doing business with them because of their approach and attitude.

As the business has grown they have opened a second office in central Birmingham, and they are looking for a writer with strong editorial skills to join the team.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and Creative Director. You will help to edit and write copy for clients in a range of industries from financial services to consumer and charity. This could be anything from shaping messaging to press releases and editorials, to editing and proofreading annual reports and everything in between.

You must be a proven writer with strong editorial skills, and an eagle eye for spotting grammatical errors.

A background in marketing communications, internal communications or PR would be ideal.

You will also help to shape all of our own marketing materials including our pitches to prospective clients. You will be expected to help us build a network in Birmingham and where possible secure new business.

We also want you to be part of creating other materials, such as film and design, including idea generation, meetings with clients and attending shoots.

We are a small company, but growing fast, so you will need to be hands-on and keen to get involved with everything we do. We need people who want to learn and can also teach us a thing or two. There may be opportunity for international travel on some projects and domestic travel around the UK, including to our other office in London.
