BMI Group appoints the Regional HR Director role as part of a strategy to create an organization delivering superior solutions to customers, being recognized and admired by customers, internally and by the wider Building Products industry.

HR Director:  Purpose of Role

The HR Director will be responsible for defining and delivering HR expertise to customer groups. You will spend the majority of your time working with the business line management in the country providing guidance and expertise on all aspects of “people” interventions. You will work in a local business environment, face to face with your customers and will be an integral part of the regional and country management team. You will be a seasoned HR professional and will enjoy using your influencing, relationship building and decision making skills to align and tailor top level HR priorities to meet local business and “people” requirements. You will know where to source expert resources to deliver local “people” requirements.

Key responsibility

  • Define, develop and implement regional HR strategy to meet with each country’s business requirements
  • Roll out Group HR initiatives, guidelines and framework defined by Group including processes, culture etc.
  • Manage and drive the sourcing and recruitment process in the country according to central guidelines
  • Develop effective working relationships with country leadership to ensure HR activities are aligned to business needs
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work with country management to identify, develop solutions and prioritize delivery of their people needs
  • Ensuring HR system data is accurate and up to date
  • Manage employee relations issues, including; relationships with Works Council, performance, disciplinary and grievance issues, hiring, firing
  • Lead and implement the BMI Group HR Governance model on regional level
  • Ensure compliance with employment law issues (contracts of employment, policies, etc.)
  • Build and sustain union and works council relations and negotiations
  • Provide accurate benchmark on market pay and conduct annual salary reviews
  • Provide effective advice and guidance on HR issues to Regional and Country management
  • Coach & support line mgmt. In the application of HR policies and practices to ensure effective people management
  • Provide input and sparring on strategic resource planning including possible staff reductions/capability uplift, FTE targets and expense requirements
  • Lead the in-region identification and development of high potential talent, setting stretch objectives and personal development plans
  • Source relevant internal and/or external HR expertise

The role is a member of regional management team
