HR Consultant - Part-time 10 hours/wk

The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR Advisor who is looking to step up as a HR Manager/Consultant and looking to progress in their career. This is a fast paced, hands on position that needs someone flexible who can work well on their own and in a team and be able to operate across the business at different levels.

The HR Consultant will assist one of our client sites working 10 hours per week with a possibility of increasing to more hours.

The duties will include:

To undertake a broad range of HR work in line with customer needs and plans, covering the employee lifecycle:

  • Be the main liaison between the clients EMEA offices and HR team headquarters in the USA.
  • Ensuring that your organisation has a structure in place in terms of its paperwork and systems to ensure legal compliance, such as contract, files, handbook policies and procedures.
  • Auditing personnel files and folders.
  • Conducting and supporting on sensitive issues such as performance issues, grievance and disciplinary meetings. This includes providing or writing letters and on-site support when needed.
  • Provide guidance for immigration issues.
  • Analysis of key HR and industry data and offer strategic HR advice to the management team that create both operational and financial efficiencies.
  • Recruitment advice so that you are attracting the best candidates at the most competitive rate. Ensuring that the organisation has effective processes for acquiring, inducting, developing and retaining employees.
  • Issue contracts and monitor responses.
  • Conduct Induction for new joiners.
  • Assist with reorganisations, redundancy or TUPE advice and the correct procedures to follow.
  • Managing the delivery of effective Appraisals, Disciplinary and Grievances. Which includes sickness and ensuring staff meet company standards.
  • To keep up to date with the latest issues in HR and Employment Law in order that Bradfield is able to demonstrate best practice at all times.  Maintain Bradfield “driving license” and attend BCL training sessions and internal meetings.
  • Assisting with the monthly preparation of payroll information.
  • Administer pensions file and collate and action pension starters and queries.
  • Create and deliver successful presentations, and facilitate training to individuals and groups at all levels of an organisation.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication for a wide variety of HR initiatives including, but not limited to, company programs, benefits, and organisation changes.

Essential:

  • You must be based in Cambridge or be willing to travel to Cambridge for the role.
  • Associate Member of the CIPD or a Business Degree.
  • Experience working with a US multinational company.
  • Strong Employee Relations experience.
