Lloyds Banking Group
Contract Type

At Lloyds Banking Group we're driven by a clear purpose; to Help Britain Prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, business and communities.

Our in-house legal teams work in close collaborative partnership with both external counsel and business stakeholders, delivering high quality legal services and managing the Group's legal risk. The Commercial Banking Litigation team provides specialist support on potential and actual significant litigation and contentious matters to the broad range of business areas which comprise Commercial Banking.

We're currently seeking an experienced Lawyer to join our high performing in-house litigation team, which provides pro-active and focused legal advice and support across Commercial Banking in relation to litigation and contentious regulatory matters. You'll be providing support and advice for complex and high value matters as well as supporting the resolution of complaints and providing representation on projects and forums. It's essential that you hold a current legal practising certificate, as well as post-qualification Commercial litigation experience. It's desirable that you have some contentious regulatory experience and experience of working within the banking and finance sector, but this isn't essential.

We'll expect you to manage challenging case loads in terms of strategic case management, 360 degree stakeholder briefings and management of risks/issues and budgeting. In addition, we'll also need you to select, instruct and oversee the management of external panel firms.

As you'd expect, we'll need you to evidence strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Your role will involve taking personal responsibility for relationships with stakeholders, so you'll need to engage, build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

You'll also have the opportunity to mentor and develop our more junior members through informal line management, as well supporting and deputising for more senior colleagues.

In return, in addition to salary, we offer an award-winning benefits package, including performance-related bonus, car allowance, a contributory pension scheme and private medical insurance, as well as a flexible benefit scheme with industry leading benefits on offer.
