Quality Materials Manager, Open to flexibility

Join our team of Quality Materials Manager by ensuring the materials supplier's compliance with Kellogg quality and Food Safety standards. You will develop, implement and maintain material specifications, quality programs and vendor relationships including approvals. Also, you will manage quality and food safety ingredient issues with suppliers for assigned categories of materials.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Responsible of the supplier and materials approval process by reviewing the food safety and quality attributes of new materials/supplier sites;
  • Materials contact for all Kellogg Europe facilities in regards to overall ingredient quality, specification variations and food safety issues for assigned categories;
  • Compliance of specifications and food safety. Involved in cost/quality relationships with Procurement, R&D, Kellogg facilities and the supplier;
  • Solicits feedback from the plants to conduct ongoing performance evaluation of existing suppliers. Based on plant feedback, coordinates resolution of ingredient issues with suppliers;
  • Keeps informed on the safety and regulatory compliance of ingredients and potential contaminants;
  • Assesses risks and, using technical expertise and knowledge of Kellogg business, notifies appropriate senior management and technical personnel of potential issues prior to their occurrence;
  • Maintains accurate and up to date material and supplier information;
  • Works with suppliers on root cause analysis and ensures execution of corrective action/preventive action plan;
  • Works with Auditing Team to drive suppliers to understand, comply with K expectations and drive improvement.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE? 

  • B.S. and relevant experience, M.S., or college level courses in Food Science/ Grain Science/ Food Technology Microbiology / Chemistry;
  • The incumbent should have knowledge and ability to understand food law, food technology, food chemistry, microbiology, cereal science and agricultural practice;
  • The incumbent should possess leadership and communication skills, and diplomacy that will promote good relations with suppliers, Procurement & management;
  • This individual must be able to function effectively as a project manager, planner, coordinator, and communicator;
  • Fluent English – verbal & written, Dutch is a plus.
