RECRUITMENTiQ are working in partnership with a local tea manufacturer that is currently seeking a Financial Controller.

A medium sized family run business is looking for a motivated and positive finance controller to work closely with the Directors and be responsible for the delivery of the company's financial function.

The company, based in London SE26, specialises in packing and selling high quality tea products under its Birchall Tea brand.
The position is available on a part time basis (18.75 hours over 3 days per week).

Duties will involve:

Bank reconciliation and period end review and postings - journals, accruals, prepayments, revaluation of foreign currencies bank accounts.
Preparing monthly management accounts.
Production of budgets and forecasts for the P&L.
Cash flow forecasting and management.
Processing Year End and Managing the Year End Audit.
Reporting and providing analysis of weekly and monthly financial information. Investigating and understanding variances to budget, prior year or other expectations.
Producing financial reports as required by management.
Quarterly VAT reconciliation and returns.
Management of the business accounting systems. Ensuring that the group has robust financial and stock control systems in place to support the business operations.
Other day to day finance processes and tasks as required.
Skills and experience required:

Previous experience of at least 5 years in a financial management role.
Proven ability in liaising with both Directors and accounting staff.
Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals, AAT qualified or preferably CIMA / ACCA qualified or part qualified.
Strong IT skills and proficiency in the use and maintenance of computerised accounts (knowledge of Access Supply Chain an advantage).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent analytical skills and very confident with using excel and other Microsoft packages.
Accurate, methodical and inquisitive approach to work.
Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude being essential to fit in with a small, efficient and friendly team.
